Our program

In cooperation with the Sheridan School District, we will hold our 25th Summer Arts Program at Sheridan High School. It is open to students ages nine through high school from Yamhill and Polk counties.

The Summer Arts Program consists of eight days of 2.5 hour morning and 2.5 hour afternoon classes. Courses are taught by working artists and educators. The classes will be held weekdays Monday, June 15 through Thursday June 25. Classes are limited to 10 students to maximize learning, with a few exceptions. All classes will be held at Sheridan High School. Classes with low enrollment may be canceled.

Busing will be provided to and from Amity and Willamina. The program is funded through tuition, grants, and private donations from local individuals, non-profit organizations and businesses.

On Friday, June 26 starting at 5:30 pm there will be a performance and art exhibition at Sheridan High School.

In addition, a one-day field trip on Friday, June 19 is also included in the program. Participation is encouraged but optional. Seating will be limited, and participation is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Attendance

Students are expected to attend all classes as well as the final performance and exhibit on Friday, June 26. Attendance will be taken daily. Due to the nature and quality of the classes we offer, missed days cause significant disruption to class content and impact all attendees—including the student missing classes. Partial attendance is strongly discouraged. Prolonged illness refunds will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

Lunches

Please provide a sack lunch for your student. Lunches will not be available the first week of classes. However, for the second week of classes, the Sheridan School District USDA Free Lunch Program will begin, and will be available to Art Conspiracy students Monday through Thursday.

Student Conduct

Students should be courteous and respectful to teachers, staff, and fellow students. Students who are disruptive to the program may be asked to leave and may jeopardize future enrollment. Financial aid students who are disruptive will not be allowed to enroll the following year.

We encourage students to wear loose, comfortable clothing that can be discarded without regret as some classes get very messy. Shorts, jeans, and T-shirts are advised.

The use of electronic devices is not permitted during classes. If possible, please leave them at home. Electronic devices will not be permitted in class. Baskets will be provided in each class for students to deposit their devices for the duration of that class period. Any electronic device used during class will be confiscated until the end of the day.
